Hawaiian Lei

I finished Cheryl's little Hawaiian lei last night...

This was so much fun to make. I think I'll do another one? Love the flower punch I bought.

So many ideas! So many possibilities!

Hope you have a beautiful day!

It's Six O'Clock And The Winner Is.....

I know it's not six o'clock everywhere... but it's six o'clock here and it's time to pick the winner of my thank you give-a-way!

I want to thank each of you who commented on my winning streak post. I was so excited to have won three contests that I just had to have one of my own! I placed your names in this little wooden box and shook it up....

I was so excited to see who won!

Congratulations to Cheryl at A Miniature Place! You are the winner!

Cheryl has been collecting miniatures and antiques for a long long time. She has an old dollhouse that she is restoring, just like me. Cheryl also mentions that she has a Lawbre Greenhouse kit on her "to do" list. Cheryl lives in Hawaii! <--- Just click on the link to visit.

Do you see the BIG smile on MY face right now?! I know exactly what I can make for her! That will be this week's project. I hope to get it in the mail to her very soon. Please go on over to A Miniature Place and congratulate Cheryl!

I really appreciate everyone who reads my blog and leaves me such sweet comments and helpful advice! I know I start a lot of things and hardly ever finish anything. I promise to finish Cheryl's gifts before any more projects are started!

Hope you have a wonderful evening and thanks for being my friends!
Blessings, Kathi
I'm not sure I want to spend my day doing this...

The tiles for the bathroom are cut. It looks like there are about a million of them?!

I really tried to cut them all the same size. Here's my second sample board...

I didn't use the tweezers this time. I still got glue on the front of the tiles. Plus they are still not straight! In the photo you can see that one is too small and one is crooked. Will that really matter?

I think I'll set the tiles aside and work on my give-a-way gifts today. There's still time to enter. Right now you have a 1 in 15 chance to win! I will draw the winning name today at 6 pm! Wonder who will win? :D

Bathroom Tile - Take Two

I'm using Josje's tutorial to make the tiles for my bathroom walls. I made a little sample board to see how my first tiles looked. Not so pretty. They are NOT straight. Plus the glue got on the front of the tile. I think the tweezers I used made the little spots?

I want to make subway tile. In mini scale they will be 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch long.
I had problems cutting the tiles with my paper cutter because there is no 1/4 inch mark on the edge of the cutter. I found some free 1/4 inch graph paper online and printed it out. Then I used spray adhesive to attach it to the back of my painted card stock.

Now it will be easier to cut the tiles. I also sprayed one coat of clear gloss on the front. I hope it will keep the glue from messing up the tiles?

I have a lot of cutting and pasting to do today! Hopefully, my second attempt will turn out better.

I also want to make some special things for my thank you give-a-way. Don't forget to comment on this previous post if you would like to enter! I will be drawing the winning name tomorrow at 6 pm! I can't wait to see who wins!

Hope you have a beautiful day!

Tile

I'm still making tiles for my bathroom. I thought what I have done so far was okay. Then I saw THIS house on Erin's blog, House of Turquoise today!

I'm going to start all over!

Winning Streak and a Give-A-Way!

I just found out this morning that I won Tree Feathers Miniatures contest on Facebook! I'll get to choose 6 of Grace's wonderful books for my dollhouse! Here is one that I've been wanting for a long time.

Yesterday you saw the things I won on Deborah's give-a-way. I also won Casey's drawing!!! Casey is making me a beautiful wicker chair with custom cushions just for me!

Look at all of the beautiful fabrics she has for me to choose from! I really like the turquoise fabric, third from the left. Casey's wicker is gorgeous! This chair will have a very special place in my beach house! If Casey can get it away from Tessie!

I really can't believe how blessed I am to have won all three of these great gifts! To celebrate I'm going to have a give-a-way myself! Just comment on this post and I'll choose the winner on Sunday!
