Here is my design plan for the 1/4 scale Spanish Revival House. Lots of photos and lots of ideas! I'm thinking now that I will build it with 1/16" basswood.
I have the wood I need. I just need to figure out how to cut it. Sure wish I had that Micro-Mark table saw I've been wanting...
I've never built a quarter scale house before. I'm not even sure where to start!?
Hope you have a great day!
This certainly will be a wonderful miniature!

Kathi, have you considered illustration or mat board instead of wood. I use that a lot for quarter scale. It is much easier to cut and measure and it comes in large sheets at Michael's or at art supply stores.
ReplyDeleteI love what you are doing so far! The house is going to be beautiful!
I'm so excited to see you build this one Kathi! I love your mock-up so far!
ReplyDeleteSeguro que será fantástica :-) Si tienes alguna duda sobre las casas españolas y te puedo ayudar con algo desde aquí solo tienes que decirlo :-)
ReplyDeleteUn beso.
Your plans look great, I can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteHello Kathi, your plans look fantastic, but I agree with Caseymini. Think about using card, much easier to cut and if you make a mistake you have a huge sheet to play with......you could make a whole village!!

The plans for the house are fantastic. I am sure it's going to be a beautiful little house.
ReplyDeleteKathi, great plans - I am sure the finished house will be lovely. I am addicted to quarter scale, it is a wonderful size to work with. And I too agree with Caseymini - I would recommend using mattboard or foamcore. Easier to cut and if you make a mistake it is easy to rectify. You can use spackle or similar over the exterior to give a rendered finish, and paper or paint the interior. Whatever you choose I will be watching with great interest.
