How Much Wood?

I've had this 9 x 24 x 36 inch bookshelf sitting in my workroom by the door for a long time.  I wasn't using it for books. It was just a place to put "stuff."  Today I decided that it might make a good place to store wood?

I removed the top and second shelf from the bookcase. Then I started stacking my wood.  I had no idea how many dowels, pieces of strip wood, basswood, plywood and foam core I have!

.

I found these wire shelves in my closet. They are just the right size for smaller pieces.

I'm not sure how this will come together?  Right now it is a diversion from working on the lighted cabinet. After five days of fiddling with that, I need to do something else for a while!

Hope you have a great day!  I'll be working in my workroom.  The work table is next.  I need to get organized!

Building the Bar

I started fiddling with my little lights this morning.  After a while, I realized this is probably NOT a good day for that.  My level of patience is not what it needs to be today.  SO.   I started building the bar.

I decided a curved bar might look nice.  I cut the countertop from basswood.  This nice piece of plywood laminate may work for the front of the bar?  I will need to make a trip to Michael's to get more wood for the shelves inside.

My real motivation for getting out of the house is to escape this.  My work table!

It will be much more fun to shop than clean up this mess!   I probably need to learn to finish one project before I start another one.  Maybe?  Some day?

Hope you have fun today!

Progress in the Workroom

I'm making some progress with my work room. One wall is finished!

I moved these shelves from the other side of the room. I was happy that they fit nicely around my desk. Now I have my supplies close at hand and some of my favorite things to look at too.
:D

I have a beachy painting and a mini shadow box to hang on the wall below. The blue cabinet contains all of my tools and wood. I just might paint this book shelf blue also? The drawers are still empty! Yea! The closet is filled with stuff I still need to sort.

I got these stackable drawers at WalMart and the Dollar General. They contain my flower making supplies, paint, glue, paper and cardstock, stencil stuff, doll clothes fabric and trim.

The dresser was a gift from a friend who was moving and didn't want it. Silly man! I love all of the drawers! They are filled with sewing supplies, fabric and accessories.

I still have lots of work to do, but I'm making progress! Can't wait to get back to finishing some minis and starting some more!

Sandy and Grandpa are sitting on the unfinished sofa with our new friend. He is a VERY handsome Horsman doll I found on Ebay. He just may become the bartender at the Flamingo Grill? Grandpa is not happy with the way he is looking at Sandy!

Just as soon as this new guy arrived, Grandpa tried some Grecian Formula in his hair! LOL He definitely needs some clothes!

Well, I'd better get back to work. Hope you have a great day!

Fire Hazard!

When I walked into my craft room after work today, I took a look around and thought, "This place is a becoming fire hazard!"

There is STUFF piled everywhere again. Didn't I just clean this up?

Just look at my work table. What a mess!

I've filled my new revolving organizer but I could use another one!

Even the Flamingo Inn is buried with things I've been collecting for it.

Dylan was outside and didn't look too worried. He is used to my messes.

No, he was not worried at all until I lit THIS!

A CANDLE right next to an aerosol can, flammable glue and paint!

Do you think it's time to start putting things away when I'm finished with them? Time to get my act together or time to go back to working on my sofa cushions?

Hmmmm. I'll have to think about this. Wonder if I can find room for my dinner in front of the keyboard? I really need to check to see what everyone else was doing today! :D

I'll keep an eye on the candle. I promise.
