What Happened Here?

How did this?

Turn into this?!

Yes, those are cobwebs covered with dust above the door!  I hadn't even noticed that until I took this photo!

Sigh....

One Thing Done!

I have a LONG list of things to do today!  I did finish one thing. :D  Now I need to start packing!

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to visit my boys in Florida! I am SO excited!

I will be back on Sunday evening to pick the winner of my Anniversary Give-A-Way.  Stay tuned!

I can't wait to see who wins!

Hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Simple Solution

I found a simple solution for hanging my supply cups on the end of the bookcase.  :D

Not sure why I didn't think of this first?  These options are no longer options!

I'll need to visit Panera Bread again for more FREE coffee cup sleeves.

Maybe Starbucks has them too?  I'll have to go see. I need another cup of coffee this morning anyway.

Hope you have a great day!

Pens Etc.

First you have to see what you have. Then you need to figure out what to do with them.  These options are NOT working for me!

These may not be all of the pens and pencils I have.  There may be more that have fallen behind the bookcase where I kept them?

Then there are my craft sticks in various cups. They take up too much table and shelf space. I need a better solution for these too.

My Michael's revolving storage won't revolve because there is too much stuff around it!  I'm planning to just keep my scissors and tools in here.  Taking the pens out of this has helped.

Now.  What to do with all of those pens and sticks?  I found this great solution at CreativeCricket.blogspot.com.  Her Grandfather helped her make this with PVC pipe. Love it!

I have a mailing tube that is 2 inches in diameter.  No need to go buy PVC pipe.  :D

The end of this bookshelf is within reach of my table. It is about the only flat surface I have left around here!  Watch this space.

Getting my wood organized has inspired me to keep working on my workroom.  I'm trying to find a place for everything.  I have a new motto: "If you don't need this today, put it away!"  We'll see if I can stick to that?

If you want more great solutions for cleaning up, check out Jennifer's blog, Quarter Space. Thanks Jennifer!  Your recent posts are JUST what I need!  :D

Thanks to everyone who has signed up for my give-a-way. You still have time to enter!

Hope you have a nice day!

Weekend Project

I'm building the frame for my wood storage cabinet.  Things are going along nicely but I have encountered these challenges:

1.   Hand cutting HARD wood dowels is not easy.
2.   Using a miter box on the floor makes your back hurt.
3.   Adding a new drill bit with the chuck attached to the cord is crazy.  Is it legal to remove it?  I did.
4.   Dividing 9 1/8 x 2.  I need to go back to math class.
5.   One very old L-square ruler had so much rust on it that I couldn't see the numbers.
6.   I have no corner clamps.
7.   One level is too short. One is too long.
8.   One dog insists on being right in the middle or on top of everything. (Not shown here, but believe me, he was!)
9.   Working on a project that is 36 inches long in a doorway that is 30 inches wide...

I decided to turn the original bookcase on its side. I'm building a top frame with 5/8" hardwood square dowels.  I will add a small support for the wood in the center on the right. On the left is where the wire shelves will go to hold dowels and strip wood.

I hope to finish this today.  I'm calling this a "weekend project."
I wonder how many weekends it will take?
