Beaded Plant Hanger

This is one beaded plant hanger pattern I started. I like the little daisies. If you want to learn how to make them go here.

I couldn't use the copper beading wire I had. It was too thick to go back through these tiny glass seed beads. I used one strand of DMC #920 embroidery floss instead.

I want to make more of these in different colors. One of my patients gave me a BIG bag of beads. Not sorted, but free!  :D

I hope to have at least one of these plant hangers finished later today. Have I ever mentioned, I love beads?

Hanging Basket

I'm sure you have seen Leslie Shepherd's tutorial for making dollhouse miniature hanging baskets. I'm making one using these things.

After I saw Peter Staples beautiful plant hangers on Etsy, I thought I would try to make a miniature one. I'm using copper beading wire and seed beads. The hooks are copper earring findings.

Here is one of three parts of the hanger and some flowers I've started to make. I may try another design for the hanger?

I will cover the styrofoam with moss before I add the flowers. Lots more work to do with this. No more time this morning.

Hope you have a beautiful day filled with mini blessings!

Beads Etc.

I went to Michael's yesterday to get some little really round beads for my billiard balls. Here is what I bought.  I just can't go into that place and only buy one thing!  If you poke the photo you can see all of my goodies better.

I had a coupon plus some things were on sale. Love the textured felt. It will make a great rug.

I did get my little beads. They are the perfect size for billiard balls.  :D

I had to cut my triangle down to fit the smaller beads. Now it is very close to 1:12 scale (below). I needed two brown and two orange beads, plus one black 8 ball.  I painted those.

Then I realized that the ends of my sewing pins (the six at the front) are almost the same size as the beads I bought! I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I had noticed that first!  LOL

I'm not sure I will take the time to add the stripes and numbers? Maybe the 8 ball will get one? Writing numbers on 1/8" circles may cause blindness.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

My Favorite Box of Beads

This is my favorite little box of beads. I love beads!

Here's what I'm doing with those beads.

I'm hoping to make something like this!?

Teal, Turquoise, Clear and Brown

Out of all of these pretty beads...

I'm only using teal, turquoise, clear and brown.

This is going to take a while... teal, turquoise, clear, brown, teal, turquoise, clear, brown...

I'm getting a headache and am going to bed!
Teal, turquoise, clear, brown...

Mini Chandelier

Did I mention that I LOVE beads?

I made this little chandelier this morning. I used wire and some beads that I already had. It took me about 3 hours to make this! Working with beads is so engrossing. The time just flew by!

I think I'll put it in my dollhouse bathroom? I had a pretty little chandelier in my real life bathroom in Florida and it made me smile every time I went in there! I had to put that one together too!

My mini chandelier is 2 1/2 inches tall and 1 3/4 inches wide. It doesn't light up, but maybe someday I will try making one that does...

Saw this one on Ebay for $135.75! Too much for me!

Wouldn't it be fun to make one with Swarovski crystals? I'm thinking I might have to buy more beads!

Hope you have a happy Saturday!
Blessings,
Kathi

Candle Making

Lindsay, the Miniature Maker, shared this really cool idea and I just had to try it! Mini "candles" made from pushpins and beads. Aren't they pretty?

Thanks Lindsay! Something else to keep me from cleaning the house and doing my Christmas shopping!

Happy Mini Making!

Busy Sunday

I've been very busy today! I woke up before sunrise and started making minis. Made a quick (?) trip to Michael's and now I'm back at it again!

I just found something else I enjoy doing! Beading! Of course more supplies were needed. Whenever you start doing something new you need more stuff!

Sure hope the enthusiasm and energy keeps flowing! I'm working on my Christmas Swap gifts too. I think I have four projects going right now! Wish this was a four day weekend!

Just had to check in and see what everyone has been doing! Seems like we're all busy!

Blessings,
Kathi
