Wallpaper

One of the things I'll be looking for today at the Miniature Show is wallpaper. This room photo, from the Bradbury & Bradbury Art Wallpaper collection, is the look I want for my Spanish revival house.

My little house needs something like this!

Have fun checking out this wonderful site. I have one of their older sample books. If you love the Arts & Crafts style like I do, you are going to be amazed!

I'm off to Atlanta! Hope you have a great day!

Saturday Evening Post

Sometimes I post every day. Sometimes twice a day. This week I looked and I hadn't posted since Tuesday! So here is a quick Saturday evening post. :D

I have been busy with the garage. Mostly things that just have to be done and aren't very exciting to see. I did install the wallpaper in the attic.

I don't think I will be able to use the cute border that came with the paper. It's just too big for this space. Maybe I can find a way to use some of it?

I still need to glue the garage together. Today I was reading the instructions (again) and realized that I need to paint and install the garage door first. I've been putting that off because it looks rather difficult.

Since I'm procrastinating, I decided to try to make a mirror for Grandma. I found one I was going to purchase but it was $8.98 plus $2.95 shipping. Better do it myself!

Someone sent me some mirrored tape a while ago. I think it was De from De-Lightful Minis?

I'm finally going to use some of it for the mirror. I opened the kit of teeny tiny thread spools and quickly set that aside! Too tiny for today.

Here is what my stove looks like right now. Guess I'll be going out for dinner tonite unless I clean up this mess?

I want to welcome to all of my new followers! I really appreciate your visits and thank you for your comments also.

There are still three people needed for my Pay It Forward Swap. Is anyone interested?

Hope everyone has a Joyous Easter!

Painting and Planning

Thanks to Gina at More Minis, I found a solution for my fuzzy walls in her tips for dollhouse assembly. Gina suggested "sanding" the MDF siding with a brown paper bag.

I was very doubtful, but it worked! It removed most of the roughness on the siding so I could paint. Thank you Gina!

I received my wallpaper from Itsy Bitsy Minis on Saturday. Love their quick shipping! I think it will look great in the attic.

I'll need to prop the building up again so I can see how to install the wallpaper. I'm planning to add a cutting table and some storage around the attic dormer. More math. More wood to cut.

No laundry was done this weekend. I know you will understand. ;D

Hope you have a lovely day!

A Sticky Subject

I have all of these different kinds of glue. Now Casey tells me I might need one more?

I have a wealth of large pieces pieces of card stock. They are saved from the xray film boxes at work. I know the girls there wonder why I'm always taking them home...

I made a pattern of the back wall of the kid's room.

Then I found this red and white striped fabric in my stash. I think it will look great as wallpaper?

Now I need to attach the fabric to the wall. Casey did say that you can use watered down white glue. I think I'll try that before I go and buy more glue!

So here I go. Testing the glue I have and waiting for it to dry!

Kathi

The Perfect Place

I think I've found the perfect place for my new wallpaper. The master bedroom!

No, it won't go on the floor, although it would make a great looking carpet! The flowers in the wallpaper match my tropical comforter perfectly!

You can see the new window here. It still needs trim. There is lots of work to do here but I think the wallpaper will really make this room pretty.

Now. How do you install wallpaper? I've done it in real life but never in miniature. Do you have to buy special wallpaper paste? Can you use glue? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Hope you have a nice evening.
Sweet Dreams,
Kathi

Decisions Decisions...

I think there will be a change in plans. I received my beautiful blue wallpaper yesterday. Sadly, the colors just don't match anything I've made for my bathroom.

I thought about removing the turquoise tiles and putting white or yellow ones in their place? That would be a lot of work now that I have two walls of tile almost finished. Not sure I want to do that...

I'm also thinking of using the wallpaper in the living room. I'm not sure I want such a "busy" pattern in this large room?

I've been planning to recover my sofa anyway and these two fabrics match the wallpaper nicely. What do you think? Bathroom or living room? Save this wallpaper for my next house?!

Oh the decisions we mini decorators must make...

Blessings,
Kathi
