Hello Kitty?

Not much time for minis this morning. Here's my first attempt at making a polymer clay kitty. Go ahead and laugh, I am!

I still need to smooth/blend and add the details. I won't quit until it really looks like a cat. LOL Maybe I should watch some more videos?

Hope you have a beautiful day!
Blessings,
Kathi

I think he's cute! I can't seem to down-size my attempts enough. Here was one of my cat attempts but he looks like a giant kitten in that scale!

I think he's adorable too--I've been trying to make 1/12 scale dogs or cats in needle felting and I can't seem to get it right yet either--practice makes perfect I think :)

Have you thought about going and getting one of those "Encyclopedia of the Cat" type books and studying feline anatomy? That's what I did while I was starting to sculpt cats. It's hard to make the skin lay right if you don't know where the muscles are located.

The other thing to do would be to do an internet search for images and find cats posed the way you want them to look in your room and work from the pictures.

I will try and dig out some pictures of cay sculpts I've done to show you. Lord knows where they are currently.

I think the cat is cute too. I have some little papiermache ones I bought in France some years ago. Never thought of trying to make them myself. Looking forward to seeing how the cat turns out - I am getting tempted to try making some clay stuff myself.
