Mini Hair Pin

I've been trying to grow out my bangs. It's been about six months and I'm not there yet!

This morning I found some mini bougainvillea flowers I had made for the garden center. I decided to make a hair pin with them.

It's not perfect, but I like the idea of using miniature flowers for hair accessories. Why not? I'm not doing anything else with them right now!  :D

Hope you have a beautiful day!

Bougainvillea?

This took me over an hour and I'm not there yet. I don't have a three leaf punch so I hand cut each petal and glued them on one by one.

I used painted coffee filters but I think my handy dandy table paper will look better. It's thinner and perhaps I can get a better effect with that? Bougainvillea petals are very transparent. That's what makes them so beautiful.

I'm going to try painting one side of the paper pink and the other side red or orange and see how that looks. As you can see I have a LONG way to go! I'm going to try again tomorrow.

Hope you have a good night!

Window Boxes

This photo is the inspiration for my window boxes. I love the combination of daisies and geraniums!

So far I've painted some exam table paper, got the flower punches I needed and I'm ready to start cutting leaves. I'm going to use part of Casey's tutorial for my geraniums.

I picked one of the flowers from my garden too. God makes everything beautiful!

I have SIX window boxes to do. This should keep me busy for a LONG LONG time!

Hope you have a lovely day!

Helpful hints I found while searching for my punches:
  • Lubricate punches by punching through waxed paper a few times
  • Sharpen punches by punching through aluminum foil several times
