Since you ask, I will tell. I find that there are too many colours. Plus, you would need some dark blue tiles to match the water in the pool. Otherwise there is no link to the water. There is only a clash. Personally, I don't like them. I hope I have not offended you, Kathi. It's just that there is disharmony in this scene caused by those tiles. Well, that's how I see it!
Scale wise I don't think they are too big, you get huge tiles these days, color wise I think if you have more of the tiles maybe you should try a mix of the green, blue-green and the light yellowish ones and see how that looks with the pool. BUT REMEMBER this is your project and you must do what you like in the end.
I don't think they are too large, either. I think Elga's idea about colors would look great. I also think the tiles give a more finished edge to the pool but whatever you decide will look amazing because your projects always do. :)
Kathi, this is such a nice project...but I don't think those tiles add anything to it. It is a 1/144 scale setting, yes? While tiles in real life are available in lots of sizes, I don't think I've ever seen any larger than 18x18 used in a residential application. Those tiles seem to overwhelm the scene, at least in the photo. I am suspecting that you have doubts yourself or you would not have asked the question. I am sure there will be another project that they will be perfect in !
Kathi, I have thought a fair bit about those tiles and really do feel they are a bit 'heavy' for the scene. Perhaps it is because there are so many colours, or perhaps it is the size - maybe both. they are lovely tiles but I think I would keep them for another project. However, if you really like them - it is your decision in the end after all. Hugs Sandie
Thanks so much for all of your comments. :D I've decided to save these tiles for my 1/4 scale spanish house. I'm totally rethinking the landscaping for this one. I even moved the house! I'm sure I'll come up with something better than this...

Dear Kathi, the tiles are wonderful, but I'll say what I think since you asked, I think they are too big for your swimming pool scene.
Hugs.

Kathi, I hope you're clear on the fact that I do like the tiles, just not for this project. That's what I meant.
