Pink Petunias

When I saw IGMA Fellow, Era Anderson Pearce's tutorial for making petunias, I just had to try it.

I found a Gelly Roll 08 white gel pen at Michael's. It worked great for drawing the lines on the flowers. Poke the photo to see them better.  I wish I was a better photographer.  : p

I really like Era's idea of putting a drop of glue on your thumb nail when attaching leaves and flowers. This is much easier than trying to dip them into a puddle of glue!

Thanks Era for such a lovely, detailed tutorial. It was not easy, but I like the results.

As you can see, I'm making progress! There is still much more to do...

Hope you have a great day!

Coleus

I finished my own variety of an elephant ear plant. Then I made some coleus. Not an easy task, but I love how they turned out. :D

I have a few left over to make little plants to sell in the garden center. Now I just have to make more pots. This one I purchased from Beautifully Handmade on Ebay.  She has the most lovely miniatures!

There is a pottery class here in Birmingham that I am thinking about taking?  I emailed the instructor and he said he could help me learn how to turn real clay miniature pots and dishes. It is a six week course. I'm temped, but it would take me away from finishing the garden center.

That is the next thing on my list of things to do. These plants take a long, long time to make!  I really need to decide what I want to do with the interior walls and floor...

Hope you like my latest plants. The next one will start with an "F." Not sure what that will be yet?

B is for Bougainvillea

This is the second week of my floral alphabet. You might remember the bougainvillea I started in 2010?! It was never finished. This week I made a smaller plant for the garden center.

B is for Bougainvillea!

Now I have an Agapanthus, a Bougainvillea and a Calla Lilly.  I made the calla lily a while ago. It will have to count for the "C" in my alphabet of flowers.

I'm going to have to skip a week to finish my gift for Caterina's Summer Swap. My gift is going to Kaisa in Finland. It has to be mailed by next Saturday so I'd better get busy!  :D

When I finish Kaisa's gift, I will start a letter "D" plant. Not sure what that one will be?

Hope you have a great weekend!
