I placed some of the things I've made in the bathroom. There is still much work to do! Should I paint the sink cabinet blue like the hutch or tan like the shells? Leave it white?
I still can't decide on a floor. I cut out some 1 inch tiles in blue and white. I may try stenciling the white tiles with a fish design or do an embossing technique? I'm liking the crushed shell floor too. Think I need to add a little more sandy color in the room somewhere.
I found several new blogs to follow today. Love to see what everyone is doing! Hope you have a wonderful day! Blessings, Kathi
The tile is in! I also made some trim like I saw at Country Living.
Not sure what I want to do with the floor yet? I made this little fish design out of seed beads. Thought I might use them as accents on a crushed shell floor?
Maybe I'll put in a hardwood floor and paint it? Or maybe make some larger tiles? Right now I can't figure out how to get my printer to work so I can't print the Villa Lagoon tile I like.
Decisions, decisions. At least you can see I am making some progress! Blessings, Kathi
I found the tile I made. Of course it was in the very last box I opened!
If you click on the link above you'll see lots of great ideas for decorating a beach house. I think I've just found the right place for my seashell mirror!
Hope you have a beautiful Mother's Day! Blessings, Kathi
I found this ugly gold painted cabinet at my favorite thrift store today. The picture does do it justice this time! It is very old and very heavy! It's painted gold but, of course, it won't stay that color! I'm thinking turquoise? Since that's the color of the year and my favorite, you know...
I think it will be a perfect work table with storage for all of my mini tools and wood. With my "old lady discount" it was $12. Not a bad deal huh?
I really do plan to work on my dollhouse soon. Really... Blessings, Kathi
The big things in life have taken me away from miniatures so long! Now I don't know where to begin again!
I'm all moved in to my "new" house and getting settled. Work has been SO busy that I've come home every evening and just gone to bed. Today I finally got my cable/internet connected!
I spent the afternoon vegging in front of the TV and now I'm trying to think of what to do next!?
I have NO counter space in my new kitchen. No place to get out my supplies and no place to actually work on my miniatures. I was checking Craigslist earlier and came up with an idea that might work? I saw a baby's changing table for sale like this one.
If I got something like this and put some casters on it then I could move it around. It would also provide some much needed storage. Do you have a work table? Where do you do your sawing and cutting and gluing?
I hope to start working on my dollhouse bathroom again soon. Maybe tomorrow? I've really missed reading everyone's blogs. Time to do some catching up!
Hope you have a safe and restful night. Blessings, Kathi
Hello everyone! Yes I'm still here. Only occassionally though. I still have no internet at home. (UGH) Sometimes I feel like I'm on Gilligan's Island. At least I have a phone and lights and a motor car! It's interesting what you find to do without a TV or computer. I even planted a flower garden out front!
We're changing over our office to computerized medical records this week. There, I feel like one of the Jetsons! Today was our first day to see patient's using the new system. I think it went very well considering that none of the old patient information was transferred in. Lots of data entry going on so I'm not without a computer entirely!
I hope to be back to posting about miniatures soon?! My dollhouse is looking very neglected right now. I'm off to see what everyone else has been doing!
Hello from the hilltop! I'm all moved in and trying to find things, rearranging, unpacking and getting settled into my new place. I still don't have an internet connection thanks to a lazy cable guy... a long story... have to reschedule... etc... etc...
Just had to check in and see what everyone has been doing! I see you have been busy busy!
I'll post again later/if/when I get my computer working again! Hope you have a beautiful day! Blessings, Kathi
Today is THE day! I'm moving UP the hill to my new house! I'll post again once I get my computer going. Thank you for all of your prayers and support! Hope you have a beautiful weekend! Blessings, Kathi
I feel like Mrs. Tittlemouse this morning. I'm very very tired... Just click on the photo above to read the delightful story of her house - The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse by Beatrice Potter.
I would like my house to be clean and tidy again. Right now everything is such a mess!
Good morning! Here is a photo of "my" new house. I see two flower beds here by the front door. Oh, and my cute little rocker and some hanging baskets and . . .
For now, I'm still packing and wondering how in the world I'm going to be finished by Saturday?!
All of this stuff needs to go here in my new craft room.
I'm hoping to sit on my deck and watch my little dogs explore their new yard on Sunday?
I've reserved a truck, rounded up helpers and am moving on Saturday! I've been packing all weekend. I sure wish Tessie would come by and zap all of this stuff over to the new place!
I'm meeting my new landlord over there tomorrow after work. I'll take some photos to show you what it looks like before I get in there and mess it up!
For those who may be confused, I'm renting the larger home with the lovely hardwood floors! Thank you all so much for your prayers. God is so good to me!
My daughter and I went to look at the duplex yesterday. We both liked it. Then we walked over to talk with two ladies that were sitting on their porch across the street. We asked them how they liked the neighborhood?
One of them said, "I moved out of the one next door here." Then she went on to tell us that five houses on this street had been broken in to in the last year. She said she moved out because she couldn't sleep at night. The lady who still lives there said, " If you live alone, I wouldn't recommend that you rent that place." She lives with her husband and has a wireless ADT alarm system and bars on her doors.
I thanked them very much and promptly decided that was NOT where I wanted to live!
Do you believe in angels? I sure do. Sometimes we think we are headed in the right direction, but God knows where we should go. When one door closes another will always open.
The landlady of the beautiful house I looked at earlier emailed me, right after this, to tell me she will lower the rent and let me move in next Saturday with nothing down! I can pay the deposit over the next few months!
I am rejoicing in God's goodness today! Hope you have a beautiful Easter! Jesus loves you too. Blessings,Kathi
Now I'm really confused... I looked at another house in the same neighborhood that's more expensive than the one in my previous post. It has beautiful hardwood floors, a really nice owner and is much larger. The price is higher but it's a much nicer place. I would still have a great craft room there too.
So how do YOU make big decisions? Do you allow money to lead your way or do you follow your heart?
Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here? That depends a good deal on where you want to get to, said the Cat. I don't much care where, said Alice. Then it doesn't matter which way you go, said the Cat. - Lewis Carroll "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"
Is this not the ugliest kitchen you have ever seen?! It's the one in the duplex I'm hoping to get. Just call me crazy, but the price is right. This time you REALLY get what you pay for!
Anyway, I'll be happily sitting at my desk in this "craft" room if the house becomes mine.
Thanks so much for your prayers and sweet comments. I still have to get through the application process and come up with the money needed to move in...
Here's the view from the front door. The Bradford pear trees are magical this time of year!
I hope you have a beautiful Easter weekend! Blessings, Kathi
I'm taking a break from cleaning and laundry just to say "hello" and let you know I'm still here!
I may have found a house to rent? I'm going to see it on Tuesday. It's very near to where I am now and closer to my daughter.
Please say a prayer for me that the new landlord will work with me on the deposit money. Since I wasn't planning to move, I don't have enough right now...
My next task is to start packing up all of my dollhouse stuff and craft room! I wish I could just go back to working on my little house instead of this BIG one!
Or maybe go back to Florida and relax with my grand dogs? :D

Hope you are having a good weekend? Blessings,Kathi
