Reverse Images

I learned how to do something this morning and thought I would share it with you. I found an image I liked online and saved it. Then I copied it and pasted it to my Word documents. I formatted the picture to the size I wanted and saved that.

I want to use this image for the new front door I purchased for the "Flamingo Inn Bed and Breakfast."

To get the reverse image, I opened the file with the picture, clicked "ctrl P" and opened properties, then basic. When that window is open you will see "mirror image." Click that and it will reverse your picture. I was pleasantly surprised when this worked!

Here you can see the new door with the images behind the windows. I tried printing them on window decal paper but they weren't bright enough so this is probably what I will use?

I hope you will try this. It's always fun to learn how to do something new!

I'm making a planter box for my bougainvillea plant. There is NO WAY I can make enough of them to fill six window boxes! It will probably take me all day tomorrow just to finish ONE plant!

Hope you have a good day!

Here's the link to Barbara Sabia's stained glass that Tabitha shared! Absolutely amazing!

Spectacular new door! Do you plan to stain it? I think it would look great stained... many of the Key West doors are and they look so rich and really stand out beautifully against the painted house.

Have you tried to print the image out on tracing paper? It is more translucent if you are planning to put thses over the "glass" in the windows. Sometimes, though, I have had it slip right through as if it wasn't even there with nothing printed on it or jam if it got the least bit crinkled. If you were really ambitious, you could use them as patterns for making leaded windows...ala Barbara Sabia.

Have fun!

It is going to look great Kathi.

I agree with Tabs as well...those would look wonderful as stained glass. You can paint them on acetate and leave them as is or you can add leading and paint.

Barbara Sabia does amazing work but it would be really simple to convert this image into faux stained glass. Email me if you need help.

As for the bougainvillea...good luck. I started once and gave up quickly lol.

I love the new door and that image is fab! And I also agree that it would look fabulous as a stained glass, I wonder if it would be possible to print on an overhead plastic paper or what ever you call it :D

Yes, Ira....an acetate sheet. Obviously it is possible because that it how they are made. What a dumb bunny I am! I made tons of them in the past (not mini related...bleh)

Looks like you got some good advice here. Yup, you can use transparency sheets (acetates) for inkjet printers. If you don't want to buy a whole package, I'll gladly mail you a couple sheets.

Ooooh, and please do not give up on those bougainvillea! I love those plants. They are so incredibly vibrant and really give oomph. In the end, they will be enormously impressive. The ones you started look so beautiful!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I hope you have a fantastic summer, Kathi!
