Some Progress Made

I started working on my hardwood floor installation this morning. It's been a project that I've wanted to do for a long time but didn't know where to start!

Thanks to Dale's comment on my last post, I got the advice I needed! Thanks Dale!

Here's the living room before. Doesn't look much like a beach house, does it?

Here's what I've done so far.

Sadly, I have to go get ready for work. I'd really like to stay home and finish this!

Hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings, Kathi

I would like to thank you for joining in my dolly world!
I just saw your lovely wooden floor.
I wish I could have sen your blog before for some advice.Mine is done very simply but I always love the result.I don't know if you've seen my 1/12th shop and lately the dolls room but it isn't 1/12th scale.
I always do my floor with balsa and previously cut out a cardboard at the size of the room.It makes it so much easier! You cut out your layers of balsa then stick them on your cardboard.Once you have finished, stick your whole finished floor in the room .

According to what you show, your floor is going to be beautiful!
Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Kathi,

Youre room is looking lovely, too bad you'll have to go to work, because the floor is looking good!

From laying 1:1 floors I know that you start in one corner (left) with whole boards. At the end you cut the piece you need to finish the length and with the remaining length of the board you start again at the left. Continue like this and the boards will be in a nice pattern.
