Quarter Scale Spanish House

Here is my design plan for the 1/4 scale Spanish Revival House. Lots of photos and lots of ideas! I'm thinking now that I will build it with 1/16" basswood.

I have the wood I need. I just need to figure out how to cut it. Sure wish I had that Micro-Mark table saw I've been wanting...

I've never built a quarter scale house before. I'm not even sure where to start!?

Hope you have a great day!

Kathi, have you considered illustration or mat board instead of wood. I use that a lot for quarter scale. It is much easier to cut and measure and it comes in large sheets at Michael's or at art supply stores.

I love what you are doing so far! The house is going to be beautiful!

Un beso.

Hello Kathi, your plans look fantastic, but I agree with Caseymini. Think about using card, much easier to cut and if you make a mistake you have a huge sheet to play with......you could make a whole village!!

Kathi, great plans - I am sure the finished house will be lovely. I am addicted to quarter scale, it is a wonderful size to work with. And I too agree with Caseymini - I would recommend using mattboard or foamcore. Easier to cut and if you make a mistake it is easy to rectify. You can use spackle or similar over the exterior to give a rendered finish, and paper or paint the interior. Whatever you choose I will be watching with great interest.
