Playing With Pen and Pastels

This is my first attempt at drawing a weeping willow tree. I shaded in the background with pastels. I know I need art classes! LOL

This took me about 25 minutes to do. Perhaps if I keep trying, I'll get something that actually LOOKS like a willow tree?

I know I said I wasn't going to shop anymore... but then I saw the beautiful fabrics that Casey got today!

I went to EQuilter.com and picked out some possible fabrics. Hope this link works so you can see them? I didn't buy anything. Just looking. Really!

Kathi, they won't let you look unless you join the site. Meanies! I like your tree!

Your willow is off to a great start, I'd say that's pretty good for a first attempt. Maybe, just make the stems longer?

Now, I have to go see what Casey got. :)

Replying to Casey, you don't have to join the site to look. My neighbor is a great fan of this site, but, I need to touch before I buy. If you click on the first link that Kathi left, you should be able to peruse. :)

I love your tree, Kathi. It looks like it's just been through a storm because it's leaning on one side. I like that. It tells a story. The tree looks sad! You're a good artist!

KATHI! I didn't know you were a wonderful illustrator as well?! She of so many talents! I think the tree looks wonderful, and lots of delicate detailing on the bark and itty bitty leaves. Wow!

Please be careful with your swivel knife. I did not know they even made those!!! Your cutout looks beautiful!
