I really should buy some clamps!

Why buy clamps if cans work too :-)

I would go for the magnetic ones, I think you can use them for bigger things too.

I own the gluing jig and it is enormously helpful. I augment the magnets with Legos...makes nice true corners. I also use spring type clothes pins...and the binder clips and sometimes the hairclips used for making old fashioned pincurls (anyone remember those?) :-D

I use cookbooks, ;). I have small plastic clamps I use for many things but the books work really well for weight while drying flat. However, I've always thought the magnetic jig would be helpful for furniture making.

I have the magnetic jig and use it all the time. Well worth the cost.

I also vote for the metal jig with magnets. That is one of my most used tools. Love it!! I have had it for close to 20 years and it's still going strong!

I use the magnetic jig & Legos. I also use the small plastic clothes pin styled clamps. They are very inexpensive at the dollar stores, and you get an assortment of sizes. But from time to time, a stack of heavy books never go astray either!
