Coffee Shop Furniture

There was a great restaurant in Orlando FL called Ronnie's, a Jewish delicatessen and bakery. We often went there for breakfast. It closed in 1995. I found this vintage postcard on Ebay and thought it would look nice in my coffee shop.

I finished the sofa and ottoman this weekend and started working on a bar table that will sit by the front window.

The bar stool is a work in progress. Gluing wire to foam is not easy! Right now it won't stand up by itself, but I'll work on that.

I made the bar table with basswood and stained it with MinWax chestnut. It needs some sanding and a final coat of varnish. I like the "coffee" color.

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend!

Kathi, I learned the hard way. Instead of trying to glue the wire to the foam, try using a strip of matching fabric glued over it to hold it. What kind of glue are you using? I love the coffee house so far.

Have you seen Greenleaf's Spring Fling kit for this year? It reminded me of your builds. Go lo http//:greenleaf.com and find the "store". Then go down on the left column and find "Spring Fling 2012". The kit starts at 18.95 and has lots of add ons. I am not sure if the address is correct. I'm on the i Pad and can't switch over to look. I hope you find it. You will love it!

Thanks for your comments! :D
I have seen the new Spring Fling kit and was tempted to buy it. It is a great kit at a reasonable price too. I have enough unfinished projects already!

A very profitable weekend, Kathi! I love everything you did. I have been going crazy these past few days trying to glue steel to plastic. I have managed to get my fingers glued together many times with the super glue gel. I have a lot of glue on my finger tips and they feel numb. I will never, never attempt this project again. It's a cast-iron bed.

Thanks everyone. If you haven't seen the website "This to That" check it out. They will tell you what glue to use to glue this to that. :D
