Here's my little table. It still needs a bit of sanding and the final finish applied.I got distracted while the glue was drying and adding some "grass cloth" wallpaper to the wall. It's a piece of linen canvas applied with spray adhesive.

It has come out perfectly. I like the trimming idea, it looks very natural.

the table is really great. I like you take originals in 1:1 as example. I allways use minis for my work, but I think I'll try it like you do the next time.
